TV Stands For…

June 20, 2006

Apparently in Indonesia TV stands for Teaching Violence. Here Marek Bialoglow talks about Indonesian TV, its contradiction in censorship, and various oddness.

Regarding the movies content itself it’s pretty much clear that TV censors are so focused on cutting out all the kisses and nudity from the movies (no kidding, any kiss will be cut out by the Indonesian TV censors, even if it’s a wedding kiss) that they are too lazy to censor the violence, all the blood and body parts everywhere on the TV screen.

In Indonesia education kills. While most of Indonesians  are less uneducated, they are constantly bombarded with TV shows displaying various kinds violence. Anarchism… no wonder.
